Summary of Responsibilities:
Plan and implement a Dance program appropriate for the after-school setting that provides exposure to a range of dance techniques and styles. Activities should foster positive expression, strengthen self-esteem and enhance the personal growth of program participants.
Primary Responsibilities:
Plan engaging, weekly activities with clear objectives for participants in grades 2-5.
Facilitate dance instruction.
Utilize a variety of techniques to optimize student interest and participation.
Provide age appropriate dance content, skills and techniques that increase student knowledge.
Choreograph and teach dance numbers for culminating performances for each group.
Requirements:
Experience working with Elementary aged students.
Demonstrated interest in the field of Dance and Education or Youth Development.
Passion for working with children, especially those with limited exposure to technical Dance.
Highly professional demeanor and ability to adapt easily.
Previous experience working in a diverse, out-of-school setting is preferred.
Availability on weekday afternoons.
