Summary of Responsibilities:
Plan and implement a Dance program appropriate for a Summer camp setting that provides exposure to a range of dance techniques and styles. Activities should foster positive expression, strengthen self-esteem, and enhance the personal growth of program participants.
Primary Responsibilities:
● Plan engaging activities with clear objectives for participants in grades 3-5.
● Facilitate dance instruction.
● Utilize a variety of techniques to optimize student interest and participation.
● Provide age appropriate dance content, skills and techniques that increase student knowledge.
● Choreograph and teach dance numbers for culminating performances for each group.
Requirements:
● Experience working with Elementary-aged students.
● Demonstrated interest in the field of Dance and/or Education or Youth Development.
● Passion for working with children, especially those with limited exposure to technical Dance.
● Highly professional demeanor and ability to adapt easily.
● Previous experience working in a diverse, out-of-school setting is preferred.
● Availability on weekday afternoons (1-5pm).
