Lanier Federal Credit Union has an immediate opening for a floating Member Service Representative.  This position will be based in Oakwood but will float to our Gainesville Branch and future branches as needed.  To apply, please send your resume (and cover letter if applicable) to [email protected].  

As the main point of contact to service member transactions, Member Services Representatives are responsible for providing a positive experience for Lanier Federal Credit Union Members.  Employees in these positions provide a full range of account services from providing information on Credit Union products and services to opening accounts and processing transactions accurately and efficiently.  Employees are charged with introducing products and services that meet members’ needs and encouraging members to expand their relationships with the Credit Union while demonstrating a passion for serving the member and showing exceptional service to every member.

Examples of Job Responsibilities

•          Greet members either in person or by phone and determine members’ needs through member conversations.

•          Open drawer and balance currency, cash and checks in cash drawer at end of each shift.

•          Identify members, validate and cash checks as requested.

•          Accept cash and checks for deposit or loan payments and confirm the correct account for deposit.

•          Process cash withdrawals accurately, confirming correct account information.

•          Perform specialized tasks such as preparing cashier’s checks, personal money orders, etc.

•          Perform services for members such as ordering bank cards and checks.

•          Record all transactions promptly, accurately and in compliance with Lanier Federal Credit Union procedures.

•          Answer inquiries regarding checking and savings accounts and other credit union related products.

•          Attempt to resolve issues and problems with members’ accounts.

•          Initiate and open new accounts to include savings, checking and other specialized accounts (Individual Retirement Accounts, etc.).

•          Close members’ accounts when requested.

•          Explain, advise and promote credit union products and services to members.

•          Ensure compliance with all internal controls and established policies and procedures.

•          Assist members in completing necessary paperwork for purchasing Certificates of Deposit and/or closing of CDs.

•          Assist members with opening, closing or withdrawing from Individual Retirement Accounts.

•          Set up or close member safe deposit box accounts.

•          Open mail and record deposits as necessary.

•          Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

·            Skill in providing excellent member service.

·            Skill in communicating clearly in a friendly and welcoming manner.

·            Skill in counting money accurately and quickly.

·            Demonstrated ability to adhere to a professional dress code.

·            Ability to perform basic mathematic functions, follow written information and learn new information,

·            Ability to follow policies and procedures accurately.

·            Ability to read, write and speak clearly in English.

·            Ability to solve problems and remain member-focused when interacting with members who complain.

·            Ability to enter data accurately on line or using a computer or computer terminal.

·            Ability and desire to learn all aspects of opening and closing member accounts and meeting requirements for assisting members with the full range of Credit Union products and services.

·            Strong organizational skills.

·            Attention to detail.

 

Required Minimum Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent.

Six months of work experience, which includes:

·            Experience in interacting with the public and providing customer service.

·            Experience in making change and counting money.

 

Physical Demands/Work Environment

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
