Pediatric Associates, LLP is a group of board-certified pediatricians and nurse practitioners who are dedicated to the health and well-being of children, from prenatal counseling to college. Our practice has been serving generation after generation of families throughout northeast Georgia and beyond for over 60 years. DUTIES
Must have MA Certification
Perform procedures under supervision of a provider
Assist provider in exam rooms
Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, accurately measure and document vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and vaccines, document all information in patient’s chart
Give instructions to patients as instructed by provider
Ensure all related reports, vaccines, labs and information is filed and available in patients’ medical records prior to their appointment
Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required
Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls
Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to providers and medical assistants
Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, etc.)
All other duties as assigned by clinical manager
KNOWLEDGE
Medical assistants must have knowledge of:
Healthcare field with Pediatrics being a plus
Medical terminology and vaccines
Grammar, spelling, and punctuation
Knowledge of EHRs (preferred)
SKILLS
Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette
Excellent time management skills, ability to multitask and prioritize work
Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow
The ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections
